This place is one of my favorites. It’s a one of a kind place and typical of what you might expect in Durham. When you walk in the place for the first time the appearance is a little deceiving. You’ll see old banged up furniture inside and out and just a bit of disorder. But the food is delicious and consistently high quality and fresh. For an idea of the kind of place it is, there used to be an old table on the porch with a drawer. My wife and I would have lunch at that table now and then and one day for no particular reason, we opened the drawer. Inside we found handwritten notes written by patrons going back several years. Some on slips of paper, others on napkins. Many of them were very nice personal notes about their impression of Fosters and sometimes a bit about themselves. We must have spent hours over several visits reading those notes. I always remember them when we have a chance to stop in for a meal.

The customer service is GREAT, people are very very friendly, service is fast, and the food is incredibly fresh. Every meal I've had there is a banger. The pies.....you must leave room for pies. The key lime is heavenly and their pecan pie is unforgettable. Only $3 a slice for a really big portion. So glad this place exists.

So, so good! We were in the area this summer and this breakfast treasure was recommended to us. Fosters has every breakfast food you can think of and more! The portions are sizeable too. Great outdoor seating. We even went back the next morning before heading home.

I've been going here for years. The food consistently is great. Also, I love the outdoor seating on a nice day. As often as I go here, I actually do not have a go to dish. I almost always order the chef special, which changes. I do enjoy their bread pudding and typically get some for dessert whenever I go. I highly recommend this place. It is one of my absolute favorites in Durham.

Excellent food, including main course and dessert, most of all. The ambiance is country, at best, but the employees were terrific. Very clean and very creative. Prices were good, especially considering the quality and amount of food.
